[origin: EP0786852A1] The electric drive has an electric motor (1) with a ventilated spring pressure brake (3) arranged between one end surface of the motor and a drive element (13) on this end coupled to the motor's shaft end (12) and attached to that end surface of the motor. The spring pressure brake presses an axially displaceable armature plate (7) by spring force against a braking surface (11) on an element (10) attached to the motor shaft so as to rotate with it. The spring pressure brake and the drive element overlap each other at least partially in the axial direction.
