[origin: WO9613453A1] A flat article separating and transferring device has means (E) for receiving flat articles (S) and for bringing flat articles (S) to a transfer position (A); an endless revolving conveyor belt (MB) provided with at least one suction hole (SO); at least one suction chamber (SK) arranged in the area of the transfer position (A) at the rear side of the conveyor belt (MB); an endless revolving compression belt (AB) associated with the conveyor belt (MB) in the area that follows the transfer position (A); conveyor means (F) for receiving and further transporting separated articles (S). Articles (S) brought to the transfer position (A) are gripped by the suction hole (SO), are further transported between conveyor belt (MB) and compression belt (AB) and are then ejected onto conveyor means (F). This device is suitable for handling newspapers and magazines.
