The method uses a laser beam which is passed through the bore of the die, which is rotated by a stepper motor, and the resulting diffraction pattern is recorded by a camera. Defects in the diffraction pattern may be related to faults in the bore of the die. The laser (14) beam is directed on the bore of the die (10), which is held in a fixture attached to a stepper motor (22), and the resulting circular diffraction pattern is focused by a lens (26) on to a charge-coupled device camera (16) as the die is rotated through pre-determined angles by the motor. The results are analyzed by a computer (18) and displayed on a screen (28). Defects in the bore roundness, smoothness, etc. distort the diffraction pattern.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zur optischen Beurteilung einer Bohrung innerhalb eines Ziehsteins (10), der zum Ziehen von Feindrähten, insbesondere von Wolframdrähten dient, nach quantitativen (z.B. Durchmesser, Ovalität) und/oder qualitativen Gesichtspunkten (z.B. Ziehsteinschäden durch Riefen, Rauheit, Sprünge). Ein Laser (14) sendet einen Laserstrahl auf den Ziehstein (10), der in einer drehbaren Aufnahme gelagert ist, die ihrerseits von einem Schrittmotor (22) angetrieben wird. Der am Ziehhol (12) gebeugte Strahl ergibt ein spezifisches Beugungsmuster, das von einer Kamera (16) zeilenweise erfaßt wird. Ein Programm errechnet aus Signalen des Beugungsmusters den Durchmesser und die Ovalität des Ziehhols (16). Die Erfindung ermöglicht eine schnelle und genaue Beurteilung des Ziehsteins (10), insbesondere eines Ziehhols (12). <IMAGE>
