Abstract (en)
At least one replaceable forme cylinder (60,63) carrying a printing forme in a printing machine (38) is replaced by at least one second forme cylinder (60'-63'), also carrying a printing forme. The forme cylinders have fixed interfaces for registering correctly at the sides and circumferentially in a bearing in the machine. A replacement unit comprises a gripper (41-44) and cylinder changing device (47,47). The gripper removes the forme cylinder from its bearing, places it in the cylinder changing device and takes out from it the second forme cylinder and inserts it again in the bearing in the printing machine. The cylinder changing device has an image forming unit (48,49) for forming a new image on the first forme cylinder while it is rotated about is longitudinal axis.

Gemäß der Erfindung wird eine Druckmaschine (26) geschaffen, die einen Formzylinder (28, 29) aufweist, der zusammen mit seiner Druckform gegen einen gleichaufgebauten Formzylinder (28', 29') austauschbar ist. Dabei haben die Formzylinder (28, 29; 28', 29') fest vorgegebene Schnittstellen für die seiten- und umfangsregisterrichtige Lagerung innerhalb der Druckmaschine (26). Die Auswechseleinheit weist einen Greifer (34, 35) auf, um den verdruckten Formzylinder (28, 29) gegen den anderen Formzylinder (28', 29') auszutauschen. Dieser wird aus einem Ablagemagazin, z. B. einem Trommelspeicher (36) oder einem Kettenspeicher, entnommen. Vorzugsweise ist innerhalb des Ablagemagazins (36) eine Bebilderungseinheit (37) vorhanden, in der zunächst das alte Druckbild gelöscht wird und dann ein neues Druckbild aufgebracht wird, z. B. nach dem Tintenstrahl- oder Thermotransferverfahren. <IMAGE>
