The railing (1) has a horizontal or sloping handrail (10) and one or more vertical posts (2). It also has a horizontal or sloping bottom rail (3). The hand rail and the bottom rail are made in different predetermined lengths, and can be attached to the posts using their ends. In addition to the bottom rail, the railing has a continuous filling rail (4), which accommodates the lower ends of balusters. The filling rail may be available in different predetermined lengths, and may be able to be fastened to the bottom rail. Decorative bars (5-8) may also be fixed to the filling rail.
