The lighting system consists of a number of fluorescent light tubes (5,6) that are held in sockets in frames (3,4) that are coupled together by sockets (13). The lighting units have connectors (15) are of a plug and socket type that couple with contacts within a power rail (2) that is fixed to a surface. The power rail has an electrical strip with parallel conductors and contact points are made with blade elements that penetrates the insulation.

Insbesondere als elektrisches Anschluß- und Kupplungssystem für Lichtbänder ist ein Dosen-Steckersystem geschaffen, das beim Montieren des Lichtträgers (3) an der Tragschiene (2) automatisch die elektrische Verbindung von auf dem Lichtträger (3) sitzenden Verbrauchern mit Leitungen (11) bewirkt, die in der Tragschiene (2) verlegt sind. Zum Anschluß dieser Leitungen (11) weist die Dose (17) einen Satz von Schneidklemmkontakten auf, die beim Aufsetzen der Dose (17) auf einen Dosensockel unter Durchtrennung der Leitungsisolierung automatisch kontaktiert werden. Der Dosensockel wirkt dabei als Einpreßwerkzeug zur Herstellung der Schneidklemmkontaktierung. Der Stecker (18) weist mit diesem verrastete Kontaktsockel mit Steckkontakten auf. Wenigstens einer der Steckkontakte ist durch Verschiebung des Kontaktsockels in seiner Position und somit in seiner Zuordnung zu einer der angeschlossenen Leitungen (11) veränderbar. <IMAGE>
