Hood annealing furnace, esp. for steel strip or wire coils, with a base for holding the annealing charge and a protective hood positioned and sealed on the base, with a central fan impeller and surrounding flow guide in the base for circulation of the protective atmosphere within the hood, and having a closable annular gap (7) between impeller (4) and flow guide (5) and a heat exchanger (8), through which the partial volume of protective gas diverted via the annular gap (7) is recirculated to the hood (3).

Ein Haubenglühofen besitzt einen Glühsockel (1) zur Lagerung des Glühgutes (2) und eine auf den Glühsockel (1) dicht aufsetzbare Schutzhaube (3). Im Glühsockel (1) ist ein Ventilator mit zentralem Laufrad (4) und dieses umschließendem Leitapparat (5) vorgesehen. Um eine raschere Kühlung nach der Wärmebehandlung zu erzielen, ist zwischen dem Laufrad (4) und dem Leitapparat (5) ein verschließbarer Ringspalt (7) angeordnet, der einen Wärmetauscher (8) nachgeordnet hat, aus dem die in den Ringspalt (7) abgezweigte Schutzgasteilmenge zurück in die Schutzhaube (3) strömen kann.
