[origin: DE19605926C1] Each loop has its own microcontroller (3) conditioning signals from a particular set of sensors (1') and adjusting corresponding actuators (2') accordingly. A control panel (6) inputs desired values related to operation of the travelling machine and/or its individual units to a central computer (5). The identical and interchangeable microcontroller are provided each with a device for recognising specific control tasks and activating specific circuit elements and/or specific software. A service interface (8) connects the computer to a storage diskette or printer for machine state data, which may be relayed (9) to a special computer. The machine is navigated (10) using appropriate sensors (11).
