[origin: EP0790458A1] The indicator light comprises a light source such as a filament lamp with a flux recovery element and a cover plate (40). Beneath the lamp and the cover plate there is an intermediate screen (30). The intermediate screen has on its external face a set of opaque and semi-opaque bands (31) of regular step size. The cover plate includes a set of parallel rows of optical lens elements (41), extending parallel to the opaque and semi-opaque bands on the intermediate plate. These lens elements may be convex, with cylindrical or spherical sections. The ratio of the step size of the opaque bands (P1) and that of the lens elements (P3) is not an integer number, but is preferably in the range 1.02 - 1.15.
