Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9614171A1] In a high-pressure cleaner having an automatic control unit (12) comprising a piston rod (20) with a piston (21), a first side (22) of which is subjected to the pressure in the suction inlet of an injector carrying the liquid flow to the cleaning gun and the other side (23) of which is subjected to the output pressure of the pump connected to the drive nozzle of the injector, so as to move the piston (21) in dependence on said pressures so as to either close a switch (16) in the supply circuit of the pump motor or to open a pressure-release valve (27, 33) connecting the space bounded by the second side of the piston (21) with a pressure-release chamber (26) connected to the inlet of the pump, the novel feature is that the effective areas on the two sides of the piston (21) are different and attuned with the characteristics of springs (28, 29) acting upon the piston (21) in a contact-closing direction in such a manner, that when the flow of liquid is shut off by closing the valve in the cleaning gun, the piston (21) and hence the piston rod (20) will take up an intermediate, equilibrium position, in which the pressure-release valve (27, 33) is closed and the switch (16) is not held in the contact-connecting position.
