[origin: WO9614497A1] The invention concerns a resonance exhaust silencer for 2-stroke internal combustion engines which has an axially symmetrical resonator housing (1) into which an inlet connection piece (8) leads and which in turn leads into an outlet pipe (4) containing a silencer. In the direction of flow the resonator housing (1) delimits in succession a divergent diffuser section (13), optionally an intermediate section (14) of constant flow cross-section, and a converging reflector section (15). The outlet pipe (4) passes coaxially through the resonator housing (1) and the inlet connection piece (8) opens tangentially into the diffuser section (13).
