The button for a garment, with a body (2) of a material which can be altered by heat such as glass or plastics, is given a surface structure at the edge (4) by a laser beam. Also claimed is an appts., with at least one clamp for at least one button (1). A laser generates a laser beam which is guided along the surface of the button edge (4).

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine neuartige Ausbildung eines Knopfes mit einem aus einem thermisch veränderbaren Material, beispielsweise aus Glas oder Kunststoff, hergestellten Knopfkörper mit einem Rand, wobei der Knopfkörper am Rand durch Behandlung mit einem Laserstrahl oberflächen-strukturiert ist, sowie eine Vorrichtung zum Behandeln eines Knopfes. <IMAGE>
