[origin: EP0791419A1] Sliding stop for opening and closing the outlet of a casting vessel, in particular, for steel consists of a slider plate (1) with a pouring nozzle (6) made up of a refractory pipe segment (11) and a steel skirting frame (2). Fixing of the slider plate within the steel frame takes place by means of a layer (3) of refractory cement or a similar ceramic casting material. The stop comprises frame (2) reinforced from below by a pressure plate (8) with a central opening for the pouring nozzle.
