Abstract (en)
The present invention provides an apparatus for and a process of bookbinding, which permit automatic back-bonding bookbinding by folding a plurality of paper sheets in two with their wrong sides not bearing any characters or drawings as the outer side and applying together the folded paper sheets on their wrong sides. A bookbinding apparatus 10 according to the present invention comprises folding means 16 for folding each paper sheet 12 in two with the wrong side as the outer side, stacking means 20 for stacking the folded paper sheets 12 by feeding successively the paper sheets to a predetermined position on a plate-like member 18, and adhesive applying means 22 for applying adhesive material to the wrong side of each folded paper sheet 12 fed to the predetermined position. The folded paper sheets 12 fed to the plate-like member 18 are thus bonded successively together on their wrong sides. <IMAGE>
