Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0791549A2] The winding machine has three rollers (5,9',9") forming a bed on which lengths of material paper is wound into two separate rolls (7a,7b). A longitudinal seal (6',68) is inserted from below into the slot between the two support rollers. A removable end seal (34) covering the gap between the winding-roller and the mantle of the respective support-roller is positioned at the end of each winding roller. The resulting sealed cavity is connected to a supply of compressed air to form an air cushion.
