[origin: EP0791734A2] The arrangement has a diffusor (10) in the exhaust pipe, and a pivoted elliptical exhaust valve flap (5). An inner wall (13) of the diffuser has cylindrical wall segments (15), which extend band-like along the circumference of the valve flap, and parallel to the longitudinal axis (12) of the diffusor. The pivot shaft (6) for the valve flap is located eccentrical to the longitudinal diffusor axis, or within a symmetrical axis of the valve flap. The cylindrical wall segments are of constant width, and their surfaces are finished by circular milling.
