[origin: EP0792602A1] The applicator (1) consists of a supple support (2) in the form of a holder (6) which is covered on at least one side with a layer of an even more supple sponge material (16a). In a variant the support can have a layer of sponge on both faces, at least one of which can be flocked or have a covering layer of a fabric. The applicator can be made in a variety of shapes, such as a solid or hollow head with a handle, or it can be circular and enclosed in a container of the cosmetic product, inside a hinged lid.
