[origin: EP0793067A2] The refrigerator-freezer has a thermostat (20) as a control element and a further control element(18) with one position for turning off at least one electrical load (22). The compressor and the inside lamp can both be turned off. The turn-off position is a locking position which makes closing of the door (12) difficult. The extra control element is on the door frame or above it and can be pulled out by up to half an inch. It is detachable by overcoming the obstacle in the locking position. It is integrated with the door lamp switch and/or an alarm.
