Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0793361A1] The circuit has a filter device (34) to separate a signal area in the mixed signal, which contains an additional or auxiliary information in encoded form. An adaptive decoder (40) decodes the additional information from the separated signal area. taking into account a signal quality value. A further device (50) determines the signal quality value from the respective reception conditions of the signal mixture. To determine the signal quality value, those signal areas which have no signal content, with a standard signal mixture, are used. To determine the signal quality value a noise or extraneous signal value, in a signal free range, may be determined. Using the signal quality value, at least one characteristic value or threshold may be modified.
