[origin: EP0794145A1] An apparatus for unwinding a cabling product from reels has an overhead discharge from the powered reel rotating inside a pot of cylindrical cross-section, pot and reel longitudinal axes pointing in the same direction. The pot (3) rotates about its longitudinal axis (22) independently from the reel, pot and reel have a common longitudinal axis (22) and the pot is also connected to a drive (5), both drives (4, 5) being capable of being set to rotational speeds independent one from the other.
