Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0794405A1] A payload is delivered over and into an area of military operations. The payload is especially a mine or sub-munition, and arrives in a projectile, from which it is issued, axially. The projectile is an artillery rocket with rear propulsion and guidance. The payload is carried in a compartment at the nose. The projectile is used over a ballistic flight path, driven by the rocket motor. Over the operational area, the front section separates from the propulsion unit, in order to release the payload from the open point of separation. The casing is first rotated by aerodynamic braking, before the payload emerges.
