[origin: WO9612522A2] The invention relates to an attachment (7) for releasably securing a strapless breathing mask (3) to a protective helmet (2) having two securing components. Each securing component takes the form of two mutually engaging and releasable connections (24, 34), one of which (24) is secured to the protective helmet (2) and the other (34) to the breathing mask (3). The helmet connection (24) is fitted in the shell (17) of the helmet via a pivot (22) perpendicular to the side sections (8) of said shell (17), recessed on the inside (29) of the helmet (2) or against an outer side of the shell (17) and/or arranged to be adjustable for height towards the pivot (22) in relation to the outer side and designed to be elastically deformable perpendicularly to the flat sides forming the surfaces (44). This connection (24) is made of plastic with a strong memory for its readjustment into a straight extended position.
