[origin: WO9709486A1] A drainage wall device prevents an underground flow of water from penetrating in a ground or underground area (11) and essentially comprises drainage wells (6) connected at their ends to each other by a counter-balancing drainage gallery (8). The assembly is installed opposite the underground flow of water (10) and an axial drainage gallery (13) is added to direct the collected flow downstream of the area to be protected or of another system for hydraulically removing the water from said wall. The distance between each drainage well (6) can be relatively large. The invention is useful for protecting municipal grounds from pollution, for insulating building foundations and for storing nuclear waste in vertical storage wells.
