[origin: EP0795634A2] A spindle for thread prodn. has a shaft (1) which is free to rotate w.r.t. a housing (3) by means of a roller bearing (2) and a thread deflector (4) where the thread deflecting guide channel (5) has an entry (6) concentric with the spindle axis and an exit (7) pointing approximately in a radial direction. The shaft is formed as a cylindrical steel tube with smooth surfaces and the thread deflector, mfd. from injection moulded plastic, is placed in the tube.
