[origin: EP0796680A1] The procedure consists of forming at least one threaded portion (5a, 5b) on the rod by deformation, together with an annular locking groove (2). Both threads and locking groove can be made simultaneously by means of pressure rollers, with the groove positioned between one of the rod's threaded portions and a non-threaded section. The threads and groove are made by at least one pressure roller and a disc with a rounded edge, the external diameter of the disc being greater than that of the roller, so that the locking groove is deeper than the threads.
