[origin: EP0796733A1] The machine comprises a frame containing a driven impression roller, a printing roller movable against it, and an inking or screen roller, movable against the printing roller. The impression, printing and screen rollers have coaxial driving gearwheels. The screen roller has a further drive mechanism for onward transmission, and by parallel sliding movement of the printing and screen rollers. A first clutch couples the screen roller (13) to its gearwheel, and a second one to a variable-speed and reversible drive mechanism. Parallel sliding movement can be used only to couple the impression and printing cylinder gearwheels to each other, while the screen roller has its own variable-speed and reversible controllable drive mechanism, being coupled by a gearwheel to that of the printing roller, by sliding one of them in the axial direction.
