Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0796793A1] The procedure, especially for a box-type package (4) filled with a liquid, consists of making a pre-cut zone (7) using a laser on the surface (6) of the package after it has been filled, and then attaching an opener (8) to the package over the pre-cut zone. The pre-cutting operation and the fitting of the opener can be carried out at separate work-stations or at the same one. During the pre-cutting operation the container and laser emitter are fixed or travelling at the same relative speed.
