Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0797051A2] The burner incorporates a swirl-inducer for the combustion air, into which fuel is sprayed by nozzles. There is a mixing passage upstream of the combustion chamber which is connected to the inducer. There are a large number of mixing units (300) situated concentrically to the passage at the stepped portion (70) of the cross-section connecting the inducer and mixing passage (100,220) to the combustion chamber (30), and in which mixing of part of the combustion air (115a) and fuel (303) takes place. The units work with pilot stages in the combustion chamber, which are connected to the mixing passage. The inducer can also form a mixing passage for the burner.
