Abstract (en)

The gun drives a plug (6) for fixing a part to a support by a plunger weight (10). The plunger is propelled to the front of the gun (9) under the action of combustion gases from a cartridge (11) located in a gun combustion chamber (15). A return chamber, along the plunger, has a front space (30) closed by the plunger front surface (28) and a rear space (22). Both spaces are in communication during displacement of the plunger. The rear space, after a first displacement of the plunger to the front, communicates with the combustion chamber. After communication between the front and rear spaces, the rear space is isolated from the front space after a second displacement towards the front of the plunger. Following this, the rear space communicates with the outside of the gun. The combustion gas expansion is trapped in the front space and returns the plunger to the rear firing position.

L'appareil comprend, le long de la masselotte (10), une chambre de rappel avec un espace antérieur (30) et un espace postérieur (22) agencé pour, après un premier déplacement de la masselotte (10), communiquer avec la chambre de combustion (15). Après mise en communication des deux espaces (30, 22) ils sont isolés l'un de l'autre et la masselotte est rappelée vers l'arrière dans le canon (9). Les deux espaces (30) et (22) communiquent entre eux au cours du déplacement de la masselotte (10) et l'espace postérieur (22) est isolé de l'espace antérieur (30) après un second déplacement vers l'avant de la masselotte (10). Ensuite, l'espace postérieur (22) communiquant avec l'extérieur de l'appareil, la détente des gaz de combustion piégés dans l'espace antérieur (30) rappelle la masselotte (10) vers l'arrière en position de tir. L'appareil sert à fixer des pièces à un matériau support. <IMAGE>
