[origin: EP0798131A1] The method involves holding a stack (1) of part-products with at least one holder (3). An adhesive (8) is applied to the stack's spine (2), whose surface is pre-treated by an implement (4) which tears or roughens it. The implement has one or more rotarily driven brushes or toothed discs. The holder and implement move towards each other. The holders may be in the form of conveyors conveying the part products or stacks in the direction of travel (F). The rotary implement is driven synchronously (R) with the direction of travel.
