[origin: EP0798820A2] The socket housing is made of a thermoplastics material and is axially symmetrical with an open hollow cylinder at one end. The housing is formed in two half shells (1.1,1.2) with a separation plane containing the housing axis (S), the abutting edges of the half shells joined together via ultrasonic welding. The facing edges of the half shells have overlapping lips (2.11,2.12, 2.22) with joining surfaces (3.11,3.22) for the ultrasonic welding perpendicular to the separation plane and stop surfaces (15) parallel to the separation plane.
