Equipment for coating a wire with lubricant, comprising lubricant container (1), an applicator felt (9) in continuous contact with the running wire (5) and a metering device conveying a controlled volume of lubricant from the container (1) to the felt (9). The metering device (12) has at least one pin (15) with a recess (24), which dips at controlled intervals into the lubricant in the container (1) and lifts into touch with the applicator felt (9) so that an approximately equal amount of lubricant is absorbed by the felt (9) at each contact.

Eine Vorrichtung zum Beschichten eines Drahtes mit einem Gleitmittel mit einem Gleitmittelvorratsbehälter (1), einem Auftragsfilz (9), in Berührung mit welchem der zu beschichtende Draht (5) kontinuierlich abläuft, und einer Dosiereinrichtung, die in geregelter Menge Gleitmittelflüssigkeit aus dem Gleitmittelvorratsbehälter (1) zu dem Auftragsfilz (9) befördert, ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Dosiereinrichtung (12) wenigstens einen Dosierstift (15) aufweist, der eine Vertiefung besitzt und in geregelten Zeitabständen abwechselnd mit der Vertiefung einerseits in die Gleitmittelflüssigkeit in dem Gleitmittelvorratsbehälter (1) eintaucht und andererseits den Auftragsfilz (9) so berührt, daß bei jeder Berührung eine im wesentlichen gleiche Gleitmittelmenge in den Auftragsfilz (9) gesaugt wird. <IMAGE>
