[origin: EP0799692A2] The stoke adjuster has a coupling device with a first coupling element (27) connected to the eccentric bush (10), and a second element (29), connected to the eccentric shaft (8). The first element, and a first locking element, are axially fixed relative to the bush. Two ring chambers (23) are defined between bush and eccentric pin (9) by steps (21) on bush and pin. The chamber volume is varied by axial displacement of the bush relative to the shaft, and the volume of one chamber is increased, while that of the other one is decreased. A channel (25a-d) opens into the ring chamber to supply a pressure medium.
