[origin: EP0799956A2] The door bolt is a two-piece, spring-loaded bar, hinged near the end engaging the catch plate on the door frame. A lever system, hinged at the centre, holds the nose of the bolt to lock against the catch plate in the surrounding frame, but when pivoted allows the door to be opened. The door (1), in a frame (2), is locked when closed by the bolt (14) being deflected against a spring (7) and the nose section (12) engaging the catch plate (6). The nose is pivoted (18) but is unable to swing due to a pair of levers (16,17) in a knee-shaped form with pivots (18) being in a straight configuration, held by a locking bar (19). Remote displacement of the locking bar allows the lever central pivot to rise and the nose to swing when the door is pushed in the direction A.
