Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9621049A1] The present invention describes a process and a device for separating a specifically lighter phase from a specifically heavier liquid phase, in which a suspension (2) is thoroughly agitated in a reaction vessel (1), at least one reagent can be introduced into the suspension (2) resulting in the formation of the specifically lighter phase from the starting material, suspension (2) enters the lower end (7) of a pipe (5) open at top and bottom, the pipe is spatially separated from the reagent inlet (4) and the upper end of the pipe lies above the surface (8) of the suspension (2), the phases separate in the pipe (5), the specifically lighter phase is removed from the upper end (6) of the pipe, the specifically heavier phase flows back into the suspension (2) through the lower end (7) of the pipe and the specifically heavier liquid phase is drawn off from the reaction vessel (1).
