Abstract (en)

A safety device for a passenger conveyor includes a timer connected to a passenger detecting sensor disposed proximate to the combplate of the conveyor. If the sensor detects the continued presence of a passenger for a time period exceeding a predetermined time threshold, the passenger conveyor is stopped. <IMAGE>
