Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0801193A1] The lock (1), which is encastred in a door (2), is operated from each side of the door by an operating knob (3) and a key (4). The key enables withdrawal of a half turn bolt. The lock comprises two doorknob flanges (6,7) which can rotate relative to each other on the same axis (8) and are each fixed to the corresponding knob. The half turn bolt is fixed to a selection part (9) which can move in the transverse direction (10), corresponding to the thickness of the lock casing (11), between two predetermined positions. Each knob flange is fixed by corresponding lock webs (12,13). These webs engage the selection part when this is brought near the flange for activating the bolt when the flange is turned in a direction corresponding to bolt withdrawal. The web remains disengaged from the selection part when this is in its other position near the other flange.
