[origin: EP0801915A1] The couch comprises a bed side section (8) which is adjustable for height and lockable in intermediate positions at one or both sides of the bed. It lowers into a position allowing free access to the bed surface. A supporting and auxiliary hand grip (16,17) is mounted at one or both sides of the bed and is independent of the side section. The grip is inside the side section and mounted on the mattress-frame, on which its position is adjustable, in slots in lengthwise members. The grips can be P-shaped, with the upright portion secured to the member so that it cannot turn, or alternatively of L-shape and similarly mounted.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Liegemöbel, insbesondere Kranken- oder Pflegebett. Durch einen erfindungsgemäß ausgebildeten Stütz- und Hilfshandgriff, der zusätzlich oder statt eines Bettseitenteils Verwendung finden kann, können alte, pflegebedürftige oder kranke Personen, gegebenenfalls ohne fremde Hilfe, sich im Bett aufrichten, selbständig auf die Füße stellen und neben dem Bett festhalten und es verlassen. Durch einen solchen Stütz- und Hilfshandgriff können sich diese Personen aber auch wieder in das Bett hineinbegeben, ohne daß sie fremde Hilfe benötigen.
