Use of ferulic acid glucosides is claimed. The glucosides are used for cosmetic or dermatological prophylaxis or treatment of irritating and/or erythematous skin conditions; for prevention and treatment of 'stinging' and oxidative processes; to increase the itching threshold of sensitive skin; to inhibit premature ageing of the skin; and for treating atopic dermatitis and type I and type IV skin allergies.
