Abstract (en)
The invention relates to a process to improve wet tensile strength as well as water-swelling property of a water-disintegrable sheet to be used as a wet wipe for cleaning in household. A mixture of water-swelling or water-insoluble carboxymethyl cellulose and/or salt thereof having a degree of substitution = 0.30 - 0.60 and pH >/= 5.0 and water-dispersible fibers is subjected to a foliating step of a process to obtain the water-disintegrable sheet and, before or after the foliating step of the process, the mixture is added with a base.
