[origin: EP0802283A2] The grating may be embedded in earth or grass, to provide a reinforced surface. The modular arrangement consists of a number of cells (6) which are bounded by vertical walls (1) at the top. At their bottom edges (7) the walls are spread out to form feet (10) which present a concave surface (8) in contact with the soil and with flat extending flanges at their edges. There may be openings (14) in these flanges. The feet may be present only in regions where three of the walls of the cells come together.
