[origin: EP0803458A2] The device has at least one jockey roller (1) over which the web (18) to be controlled is guided through an arc (U) of web contact. The roller has a rotating outer shell (2) which is mounted by two rotating bearings (3) on two symmetrical points of the outer shell tube. The two points may be the two roller ends, on an inner bearing support (5) which is non-rotatable in relation to the rotational axis (R) of the outer shell.
