Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0803466A1] The raised driving cabin of a tower crane is accessible through a mast comprising sections (10-12) equipped with several lateral access ladders (13,14,15). The secure access consists in utilising an individual protection nacelle (17) which can move along the mast. The nacelle which is accessible from the outside enables the crane driver to stand inside it. The nacelle is held and guided on successive ladders and moved along the mast by a harness resting on the shoulders of the crane operator. A compensator hoist (18) balances the weight of the nacelle and a winding drum (19) is used to immobilise it.
