[origin: EP0803680A2] The circuit has a control device (3) which receives a safety relevant input signal and a safety device (5) with a switch (13,61), e.g. a bistable relay, for operating a blocking valve for the fuel feed line in dependence on the input signal and/or a test signal of the control device. The safety device has a counter (43) activated by the safety relevant input signal and/or the test signal, with operation of the switch when a given count value is reached. The input signal and the test signal may be combined with a pair of clock signals of different frequency for indexing the counter in opposite directions.
