[origin: DE19615951C1] The clamp device is used for connecting the conductors (10-13) of a main cable with corresponding conductors (14-17) of a branch cable, using respective contact blocks (30) acted on by clamping screws (70) for securing the main and branch cable conductors. The contact blocks for each 2 phases lie in a plane at right angles to the cable axis. The pair of contact blocks for each pair of main conductors and each pair of branch conductors lie either side of an insulating wedge (60) providing a counter-bearing for the conductors, with screws (70) for securing the contact blocks together.
