Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9622171A1] The invention describes the Portal-type Roll-through Wheel Lathe for machining of wheels (2) and brake discs of wheelset (1), dismantled from the rail vehicle and clamped in two centers (29) of quills (28), installed extendably in tailstocks (27) of portal body (6). Each tailstock is provided with guideways (30) for pressing-driving units (31) of two pairs of rollers (35, 35'), each pair for each driven wheel (2), mounted movably. The body (31') of unit (31) is provided with hinged (upwards and downwards) double-arm levers (32, 32', 33, 33'), fixed by means of shafts (34), which arms (32', 33') are coupled with the body (31') by means of cylinders (37) with compensators, for example spring type, pressing asymmetrically the rollers (35, 35') against wheels (2), and roller shafts with holders and drives (36) are fixed in the arms (32, 33) of lever. The Wheel Lathe is also equipped with floor segments (21, 21'), connected with a joint (26), which is fixed to the consoles (7), and the segment (21') is provided with lifting jack (23) for wheels (2) and cylinder (24) lifting the floor to the rails level, and then only segment (21) just over the rails level.
