[origin: WO9619848A1] A socket (10) for a printed circuit board wherein it is possible to easily and certainly detach the printed circuit board without damage. The socket (10) includes a plurality of spring contacts (12) forming contact rows along the longitudinal direction of an insertion opening (28) of a housing (14), a pair of elastic latch arms (16) extending from positions close to the respective end portions, for engaging with side edges of the printed circuit board (8), and holder members (15) projective from one of walls (24), for preventing the printed circuit board urged by the spring contacts from rotating at an angle more than a predetermined angle when the lath latch arms (16) release the fitting of the printed circuit board (8), wherein the housing (14) and latch arms (16) are formed of an integral member of an insulating material.
