[origin: EP0804897A2] A brush unit is located on the lower part by means of a height-movable bearer and is driven by a drive motor arranged in the lower part via a gear. A strip-form suction nozzle is connected to a suction pump and a tank with two chambers is provided as are several batteries and/or other current supply units. The lower part is formed as a self-supporting trough (2) which is upwardly open and downwardly closed, the vertical side walls (2a,2b) of which extend at least over a third of the total height of the housing (1) and in which at least the brush drive motor, the brush gear, a lift motor for the bearer (10) and the batteries and/or other current supply units are contained. The upper part (3) contains the tank.
