[origin: DE19502769A1] The invention concerns a device for applying material strips, in particular highly sensitive plastics foils, in a winding machine, preferably a multiple winding machine. Without the use of adhesive and without causing folds, the device enables the beginning of the material strip to be applied perfectly to new winding tubes in that the application system comprises an application component (13) which can pivot concentrically about the longitudinal axis (15) of the winding shaft (10) and urges the beginning of the material strip against the winding tubes. The application component (13) is formed by a connection rod (16), which extends over the working width of the machine, and resilient pressure components (17) which are secured to the connection rod (16) and have rotatable rollers (18) or the like preferably disposed at their free ends.
