Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9623930A1] A sieve (38) for sorting fibre suspensions is symmetrical in relation to an axis (34), has an inflow side (306) for the fibre suspension to be sorted and an opposite outflow side (308). This sieve (38) is useful for pressure sorting machines having a rotor (36) that may be rotated around the axis of the sieve and that is provided with profiled elements around the inflow side of the sieve in order to generate positive and negative pressure pulses in the fibre suspension that is to be sorted. The inflow side (306) of the sieve has grooves (400) approximately parallel to the axis of the sieve that follow each other in the circumferential direction of the sieve. A through-channel (406) opens into each groove (400). The grooves (400) are delimited by a front and a rear side wall (400a, 400b), seen in the direction of rotation of the profiled elements. In order to increase the capacity of the pressure sorting machine, the grooves (400) have an approximately V-shaped cross-section, in a section perpendicular to the axis of the sieve, and the front sidewall (400a) of the groove forms an angle from approximately 40 DEG to approximately 70 DEG with the circumference of the sieve.
